The Belly Vase Experience
A one-of-a-kind keepsake, made with your hands — and your belly.
Angie hand-builds a vase just for you, shaped and ready for your moment. You come in to the studio to press your belly bump into the clay, leaving an impression that’s entirely and permanently yours. No two are the same.
Once you’ve pressed your bump, your vase goes through its first firing. It comes out finished in a soft, creamy white glaze — clean, minimal, beautiful on its own. A piece you’ll display, use, and keep for a long time.
If you want to take it further, you can add a painting session. About two weeks after your press visit, once the vase has been bisque fired and is ready, you come back to the studio to paint and decorate it with ceramic colors. You choose the palette, the details, the feeling. It goes back into the kiln for a final glaze firing, and the colors become permanent. Then it’s ready for pickup.
Either way, you leave with something that holds the shape of this moment — literally.
How it works:
Book your session - and send us an email to hello@almostbasic.co with your booking to set up a date.
Angie makes your vase and prepares it for your visit
You come to the studio to press your belly bump into the clay, impress a date, a signature, a message of love.
Your vase is bisque fired and then finished in a soft cream white glaze
You come back to pick it up — ready to display, ready to use, ready to pass down
If you decide you want to come and paint your pieces with studio glazes:
After bisque firing (approximately two weeks after your press visit), you return to the studio for a private painting session. Using ceramic underglazes, you paint and decorate your vase however you’d like — whether that’s a wash of color, a pattern, names, a date, or something entirely your own. The vase goes back into the kiln for a final firing, and the colors set permanently into the clay.
Pickup is scheduled once the final firing is complete.
A few things to know:
Only 10 spots available per month
The painting session takes place approximately two weeks after your press visit
Pickup is scheduled after the final firing is complete, around 2 weeks more after glazing, max.
Every vase is entirely hand made and one of a kind
