One teacher. Two hours. All yours.
PRIVATE LESSONS
This isn’t a group class, and there’s no set project to follow. It’s two unhurried hours at the table with a teacher who is there only for you, shaping something you actually want to make.
Come on your own, or bring one person along. Begin with a single session, or book a few and let the work grow from week to week.
A single session is $180. A second person joins for $75 more. Packages of four or eight sessions bring the price down.
Slow, tactile, and entirely by hand. No wheel and no rush. You’ll pinch, coil, and build with slabs, working toward something to use at home: a set of cups, a platter, a vase, a planter. Your teacher stays close and helps you shape it as you go.
Private Handbuilding Lessons
Clay spinning beneath your hands and a form rising, slowly, then all at once. The wheel asks for patience and rewards it. Your teacher sits beside you the whole time and goes at your speed.
Private Wheel Throwing
Choose handbuilding or wheel throwing, then a single session or a package. Pick a time that suits you, and we’ll coordinate with your teacher and confirm.
Everything is ready before you arrive: clay, tools, and an apron. You’ll make for two hours, and your teacher helps with cleanup at the end. You’ll rinse your own tools, the way you would at home.
Your pieces stay with us. Our team clear-glazes and fires them, and we’ll email you when they’re ready, usually two to three weeks after your last session.
If you’d like to glaze in color, choose a package. One session becomes a glazing session, scheduled once your earlier pieces have been fired. For wheel pieces, our team doesn’t trim. If you’d like to trim yours, you can use one of your sessions for it.
How it works
Private lessons are for ages 12 and up.
Sessions run Monday to Friday between 10am and 5pm, and always finish by 5. We’ll find a time that works for you and your teacher.
Each session includes up to four pounds of low-fire clay. If you’d like to make something larger, just tell us.
Plans change. Let us know at least 48 hours ahead and we’ll move your session. With less notice, the session is used.
